Me-262 HistoryThe project started in 1939.The first Me 262 flew in 1941. it was not equipped wit the planned engine. Retractable landing gear was used for take off an landing. Many versions were developed afterwards. Hitler never used it as a full scale interceptor fighter bomber and it was brought too late in the war. Only 300 could be used effectively in the war.
