Cessna 340 History

The project started in 1969, but the loss of the prototype early in 1970 set back the development program. The production of the plane was reopened in 1971. it had the wings of 414, the undercarriage of 310 etc. additional feature was its pressurized cabin, all new fail safe fuselage and an integral air stair door. Initial versions were underpowered and so the engine was replaced by an improved engine in later versions introduced in1 976.
