Boeing 777 History777-200 project was launched in October 1990. First flight of 777-200 was on June 12 1994. It entered service with British airways in 1997. It was deigned according to the market demand. Its design was completely computerized which helped in reduction of cost. It has the latest technology of its time and no previous Boeing jetliner had that technology. Many versions were built. The long range versions had more powerful engines and the range stretched to 12,000 km. 777 was also offered with foldable wings so that it can be operated in smaller airfields.
