Boeing 727
History
At the time of 707 a need for a shorter range plane was felt. Boeing introduced 727-100 with three thrust-reversing engines and advanced flap system. These features reduce the landing airfield length. After it a larger version 727-200 was developed. It made its maiden flight on July 27 1967. 727-200 had the same engines, fuel capacity and other advanced systems as that of the 727-100 but additionally it had larger passenger seats and bigger payload. Afterwards longer range versions were also developed.
