B-17 Superfortress HistoryIt was developed in Second World War. B-17s saw combat in 1941. These bombers were highly armed. It had a flight deck and was initially equipped with 5 .50 cal guns. Since world war two intensified more armament was required. The first mass scale produced bomber B-17-E had nine guns. It was modified for even better operation.
