Airbus 319 HistoryA319 development project was issued in June 1993. First A319 made its maiden flight in Germany on August 25 1995. A319 is basically derived from A320. The only difference between the two is that A319 has a shorter capacity of fuel. A319 requires the same operational skills as that of A320, A321. The cockpit controls and number of pilots is identical. This key fact helps pilots to shift to A330 and A340 with very less training. A319 is assembled in Hamburg. A319 also proved to be a modal for the development of A318.
